Gansu Design depicting an interlocking pattern of large octagons and small squares that contain other medallions and rosettes. The main border contains a "quatrefoil" design.
Chinese influence can be found in the diaper pattern of small swastikas or wan symbols.  This carpet design is dated to around 1800 and was probably influenced by the Tang Dynasty silks it bears a strong similarity with.

This hand knotted classical Chinese rugs using 100% natural dyes and superior quality hand spun wool with finishing procedures to ensure a genuine antique look and feel to the carpet. Thses rugs can be made in custom sizes.
