Most of the carpets woven in China's classical period, roughly from 1400 to 1750, were woven in the western province of Ningxia, and for that reason are often called Ningxia carpets.  Scrolling Lotuses is a late 18th or early 19th century design typical of the Ningxia style, with its sparse color palette consisting of two shades of blue on an ivory ground, with a brown outer band that serves to frame the composition.  The weavers and designers of Ningxia carpets were less interested in innovation, and more so in refinement; hence the same, or similar, designs were used over and over with little or no change. 

This hand knotted classical Chinese rugs using 100% natural dyes and superior quality hand spun wool with finishing procedures to ensure a genuine antique look and feel to the carpet.
